Baby’s belly button
I have just noticed that quite far inside my baby’s bellybutton is scabby. I’m assuming this is from the umbilical cord, but he is now 12 weeks old and wondered if anyone knows if it’s normal for it to still be a little scabby inside at this stage?

@Emily thank you! His belly button looks okay other than the scabby bit right inside it’s not looking infected or anything but I only noticed it as he stretched when I was changing him. Hopefully it’ll clear soon
Mines the same. It’s like there’s just a scab left on from when her cord dropped off but otherwise looks fine. The gp saw it at her 8 week check and didn’t say anything

My sons is the same, my GP suggested just having water in his bath rather than bath soap or bubble bath and it's slowly getting better
