It’s used instead of the plastic clips hospitals use when cutting your umbilical cord
Lovely!! I’ve got a rainbow one for my rainbow baby ❤️. My only suggestion is mentioning it to your midwife because she advised me medically, there is a risk of rupturing vessels from the cord if it’s not 100% secure with the tie, so we’ve decided to still use the clamp and have the tie added to it. Not what I had in mind as I like the idea of the soft material instead of a plastic clamp - but they’ve been used for years and don’t cause any problems for newborns.
@Tash thank you, my midwife is happy to use just a tie and we haven’t heard anything about this risk x
@Jae🌝 oh that’s good to know! Maybe my husband can ask whoever is actually there going to clamp / tie the cord at the time and see what they are happy to do!
What’s this for, sorry?
