Carobel vs. Anti-reflux formula

Hi everyone! I've been using anti-reflux aptamil for a few days now and it is working but making the bottles is SUCH a faff. If I was to switch back to normal formula made in a prep machine and add carobel, is it basically exactly the same as the anti-reflux formula, just without the same headache preparing it? Has anyone tried both, if so, what was your preference?

Hello. I have the anti reflux formula. What is your problem with it when you say faff?

I use cow and gate anti reflux and make it with the prep machine and he’s doing so well on it wish I changed weeks ago after 4 different milks

With my first I used Aptamil anti reflux and used the prep machine. It worked so much better than carobel x

@E it has to be prepared at 40° exactly and you shouldn't make it with a hot shot as it goes clumpy (ive spoken to the aptamil advice chat about it after experiencing it). I've been boiling the water, leaving it to cool 45 minutes, putting some cooled boiled water in the fridge and then each feed making the water to exactly 40°. I have the baby brezza prep machine which works differently to the perfect prep so I don't feel it's suitable to make the anti-rrflux formula.

@Laura I dont suppose you have the nuby rapid cool?

@E yes I do! I just don't know how to use it with the rapid cool as I've been told I can't do a hot shot 🫠😭

I use cow and gate anti reflux and have always done the hot shot. I use carobel too but find this makes the formula thicker than the anti reflux one

I preferred the carobel as you can control each feed. So more if having a bad day or less if having g a good day. X

@Nat when you do this do you have to change the teat size?

@Rachel yeah sorry should have said. We went up to a 2. It was taking too long for him on a size 1. This is why I’m pace feeding as well as he guzzles food and a 2 allows him to do this. X
