Bottle Feeding Issue

Hi, My son is 19 weeks old and over the past few days he has suddenly started being fussy with bottle feeding. He has always been a great feeder but it’s becoming more of a struggle. For a few weeks he has been having 8oz feeds and finishing the bottle however he is now leaving 3-4oz in the bottle, taking ages to feed and biting down on the teat. I am using size 2 Mam teats, have tried size 3 but he splutters and gets upset. Any one have any tips they can share? Thank you!

Could it be teething? I've read that the sucking motion can iritate them. Mine has been fussy but also going through sleep regression.

My baby is the same age and is doing the exact same thing. I think it’s just a phase tbh

My little one is the same age and is doing the exact same thing. Takes a while to get him to finish some of a bottle.

Same here & same bottles! I put it down to potentially teeth moving in her gums.

Same here! I have just upped his teat, he does go a bit mad and milk splutters.. but he's finishing the bottle quite content

@Liz how long did it take them to get used to the new teat? Maybe I need to persist

He’s probably teething. My girl was exactly the same for about a week, not finishing the bottle and fussy whilst feeding but had no other symptoms and suddenly noticed 2 little teeth had cut.

16 weeks and Exactly the same here! We are now going into week two of it.

@Jessica .. back down to a 1... Honestly I feel they need one in between. He manages a few bottles okay on the bigger teat, but had one occasion when he brought the milk all back up. Just he's in the Inbetween stage
