Go to your GP and say you want baby on prescription milk , explain everything and don't back down they will try fob you off also speak about baby having omeprezole and gaviscon. All 4 of my children have been lactose and cows milk allergies. My 11 week old is the same and after 5/6 weeks of trying different mils she's just starting to settle and no fuss with pain. It can take a few different milks to help , my baby is on sma alphamino ( think it's called ) Good luck
@Claire they’ve put her on prescription aptamil pepti 1 but today’s her first day on it. Just hoping she settles down. Do her symptoms sound like a milk intolerance? X
Yes that is always the starter one , she will settle pretty much in a day or so , it after about 4/5 days if it's it agreeing with baby you will notice all the same symptoms slowly coming back , then they will try another it can take a while to get the right one , some babies that work , my little girls on her 3rd milk and Upto know it's working neocate is a good one , as it is an amino acid base so have no trace of cows milk , as some have a very small amount
Could it be reflux or silent reflux? My 9 week old has reflux and was similar but PPIs helped he is on lanzoparole
All I can advise is if you notice the Aptamil Pepti is not improving the situation, go back to your GP to change the milk asap. The last thing you want is your baby developing bottle aversion. Similar situation with my little girl, she started having rash at 5 weeks old + throwing up and GP kept saying it’s baby acne, it took almost 17 weeks before GP was able to diagnose it as CMPA and they eventually placed her on prescribed SMA Althera but it was too late as my little girl developed bottle aversion which was extremely stressful. Don’t waste too much time, when you know the milk is not improving her situation, put you foot down and demand change of milk asap. All the best.
