@Rosie can she help me with housing as we still live with my mom and want to get moving with housing and stuff
As Rosie has said, they're there to check in and offer support as needed. I was worrying about baby's weight as she hadn't had her day 10 check yet with the midwife so she weighed her and went through how often they weigh with me, weighing clinics etc. She's coming back at 6 weeks to see how we're doing, will do a MH assessment if needed and likely weigh baby again. RE: Housing they should be able to signpost to support or services to access. I did a HV placement as a student nurse and the hv did help with housing when it was private rents of poor condition or overcrowding.
They can signpost for help with housing but they have no sway to get you housing any quicker etc, it’s down to you to contact the right people and bid on properties etc
They just ask questions about yourself and give advice and information, took about an hour. I’m sort of in the same situation with you about my housing situation, she didn’t really do much except sent me a link to a housing support website.
I’m a HV we can usually signpost to relevant housing services depending on your situation maybe get a key worker assigned etc to help but we can’t usually get things moving quicker or more priority etc. you have nothing to worry about
No not at all, she’s just there to check in on you guys and answer any questions you may have! Ask her if there is a way you can contact her if you have any questions after the appointment, mine gave me a phone number and I can message her with questions - super helpful! Xxx
