Hey, I have consultant led appointments because of a past health problem it’s just the same as normal midwife appointment but they discuss your health in a little extra detail x

Exactly what Jessica said^^ I see 2 different consultants for 2 different things so I have double the appointments. Some of them are useless I won’t lie😂😂

I had my first today. Was nothing to worry about. Had to do a wee sample and blood pressure. Obviously the things they talk to you about will be personal to you but I'm there due to high bmi and was told as they can't use the tape to measure tummy will have extra scans at 28, 32, 36 and 39. If opt for a elective section you won't need the 39 week scan. X

Nothing to worry about. They just talk to you in more detail about whatever it is your consultant lead for. I saw the consultant after my 20 week scan as I'm being monitored due to high blood pressure during my last pregnancy. He just let me know he was happy with the extra checks they did at the scan and how everything was looking so far and then advised me to start monitoring my blood pressure from 28 weeks 😊 and if it goes above a certain range that I must get in touch with them. It was also a chance to ask any questions if I had any concerns.

Consultant led care is nothing to worry about. I haven’t seen a midwife yet 😂. They will just talk about whatever issue which has led to you being “high risk” for example mine being pre eclampsia in previous pregnancy, prematurity and fetal growth restrictions- they do all the normal checks and then come up with a game plan for your situation
