Carpet or vinyl floors for young babies and toddlers?

Which would you pick? I’m a ftm and about to update our flooring and don’t know which would be best long term and financially for our growing family. Currently have a 5 month old.

We have carpet and it was great, but as it gets older I wish we had vinyl now. I'm hoping we can change it next year.

It depends on how much u like cleaning lol an pets! In my opinion I prefer vinyl lol cause sweep an u can buy a rug For carpet it nice on feet an all but depending on if pets I used to gets tons of carpet burns lol from playing with our dogs 🤣 when I was young as we don't have dogs but I do have cat an also if not picky of stains I can leave glass of juice anywhere an wipe but upstairs is carpet an no drinks as my kid threw her bob of juice an busted huge carpet stain

I would say vinyl with rugs

My daughter falls A LOT🥴 so even though our carpet is old and we have 6 pets, I’m so glad we have it and when our kids are older we’ll change it out but it works for us now. We didn’t have any carpet at our old house (before baby) and I love being able to walk on it with no socks🤷🏼‍♀️

We have carpet and wish we didn’t Toilet training, sick, spilt drinks etc on carpet are impossible to clean up properly🤣

We’re actually awaiting our carpet to arrive. We’ve just ripped up the mdf flooring we had, I absolutely hated it. Our baby is nearly 12 months, has just learned to walk and is falling a lot, so I’m really glad we’re getting something with a softer landing. I also think it’s warmer for the winter months
