The entire contents of the nursery is in my living room because the room is being painted my house is so not ready for anyone to see it so hopefully I don't get anyone wanting to visit any time soon lol
When the health visitor came when my daughter was born she didn’t ask to look around the house or the bedroom she just came and sat in the living room And had a chat
I had my health visitor come last week, she literally sat on the sofa which is by the front door and didn’t move, didn’t ask to look around etc either! X
They aren't coming to check your home!! They are just coming to see how you are and let you know what they can offer post birth!
I have to go to where I see my midwife for the health visitor
I had mine today, We just sat in the living room an had a chat about feeding sleeping etc, she didn’t look around x
They aren’t there to judge. I had all my baby stuff in boxes (still do) and just showed her where baby will be sleeping. No plans on a nursery any time soon either!
I wouldn't worry about getting everything done I had my health visitor come last week she sat in the living room for most of the visit (was only around 15 min ) and only asked to see where the next to me cot would be going, she didn't want to see the nursery or anything else at all
One showed up at my house the other day with no warning claiming I should’ve had a text or letter! I had to turn her away as I was going out at the time! No idea what they’re doing at any point honestly, they said they’d make a new apointment and be back soon but I’m being induced in like 10 days so no idea what to do now
I had a visit from health visitor and she just sat in the lounge on sofa and never moved, was literally with me for 30 minutes x
I wouldn’t panic about this, the HV is there to meet you, build rapport to make things easier when the baby arrives so you have level of familiarity. You can only do what you can do, it’s not a house check just an introduction to one another 🩷

With my daughter her bedroom was ready by the time I was about 25 weeks - with this one I am 30 weeks and although everything is in the house, this one’s bedroom isn’t ready because realistically she won’t be sleeping or using it for a few months. So don’t panic!
