Weaning

What has everyone done first to start weaning? I started with plain oat porridge which she likes but when I try a veg or fruit purée she just gags and refuses more! Am I doing it wrong?

Started with veg, then fruit, then oats / porridge / weetabix

It’s recommended to do veg first or baby will refuse anything bitter and go for sweet stuff

I'm doing 1 veg ,1 fruit , 1 protein and 1 allergen every week at 6 months I think xx

Its first week for us we are doing one fruit and one vegetable or carb. One in the morning one in the afternoon. Next week we will continue to introduce 1 new ingredient and start repeating the ones she tried already, making recipes etc.. haven’t done allergens but will do one each week

Veg first then fruit then meals with meat and fish

Read every bit of information you can find online. Absolutely overwhelming so I’m just winging it. She’s had puree pouches of fruit and veg, she’s not the biggest fan. She enjoys baby porridge with a bit of banana mashed in and I braved giving her banana fingers the other day. She’s had broccoli whole (cooked a lot). I’ve booked a weaning class for my own confidence with finger foods. But I have been letting her practice with Organix weaning wands more of a play thing not a meal, and she loves them and I can already see how much her hand eye coordination and chomping has improved x

I’m just going for it with BLW and adapting our meals for her. She’s had carrot, potato and swede from stew and then tonight she had deconstructed chicken fajitas 😂 no seasoning though I didn’t want to blow her head off! X
