Documenting and sharing recipes from my baby led weaning journey

Hello April mamas! Hope you and your 6+ month olds are doing well. I started solids a couple weeks ago for my 6.5 month old and decided to go the baby-led-weaning (BLW) route, offering him finger foods as well as doing a bit of responsive feeding. I thought it would be nice to document the meals and recipes for personal record as well as to share with others in a similar stage in life who might find it interesting/helpful. So I’ve created this Instagram page for this purpose, and plan to share recipes 2-3 times a week: https://www.instagram.com/wholehappykideats/profilecard/?igsh=MTIwZjlvd24xeWp5eA== I’d also love to use this as a platform to connect and discuss meal ideas with other mamas. Do check it out and join the journey if it looks of interest to you. Thank you for reading and have a lovely rest of your day!🤗

@Elsa Thank you Elsa!🤗

Amazing! Already following thank you 😊

Looks great! Just followed. How is your little one taking to BLW? Not sure whether to start with purees to go straight to finger foods

@Samina thank you Samina!🤗

@Supriya thank you🤗 My little boy has been enjoying sampling the foods I offer him. At the moment it is more about building his motor skills and letting him learn how to swallow. He puts food in his mouth, munches and sucks on it but soon he would spit it out. I’m not concerned since his nutrition needs are still being met by breastfeeding and know in time he will start eating. I straightaway started him on finger foods rather than purées and let him feed himself after hearing from friends who followed BLW that their kids are now great eaters! I do offer him some mashed or puree like food like Greek yogurt and oatmeal. However I still prioritize letting him self feed with a pre-loaded spoon. Sometimes I would do responsive feeding by holding the food or spoon in front of him and waiting for him to lean towards the food before I feed him. There is no one right way but I’m enjoying ours and watching my baby’s enthusiasm around food. Good luck with your baby's intro to solids!
