My husband was saying he worries about this the other day. It will also be our first and he was like what happens to the baby after and I said while Im getting cleaned up and having a rest they might take it the nursery and he said he doesn’t want the baby leaving his side if possible 😂
From delivery to home, both of mine never left my side. In some hospitals the hospital band on the baby will trigger an alarm if someone tries to take them off of the ward as well. With my first, I distinctly remember a family member being shouted at for trying to take a baby for a walk away from the mum, after the wristband triggered the alarm. You could ask your hospital what safety measures they have in place if it'll ease your mind?
Thank you all so much!! It’s just something else I like to worry about but I suppose it’s what we do best!!😂 I’ll defo speak to the hospital closer to the time x
Same as the ladies above, babies never left my side. 3rd one was with her daddy when I was taken to theatre for manual removal of placenta so she was still with one of us. The hospital set up 50 years ago is very different to today? Try not to worry xx
Again like everyone else has said baby was never without me or dad so no chance of a mix up. Hospital nurseries are certainly a thing of the past you've got nothing to worry about
This was also over 50 years ago. Things are done very differently now
They have put so many procedures in place now so that this doesn’t happen. Babies have an ankle tag on and never leave Mum.
In the UK baby never leaves mums side, unless going to NICU, but would be tagged beforehand! My babies never left mine as I was paranoid about this too! My girl is the image of her daddy, so I definitely have the right one haha
My baba never left my side in hospital if that helps in any way. Straight from delivery to my arms. She had her own little cot next to the hospital bed on the ward. X
