Im 28 weeks
I had protein in urine for first half of pregnancy, they normally check against other things too (BP, other symptoms like swelling etc, burning sensation when urinating) and in combination decide whether to be worried. If they haven't contacted tou they likely are not worried but you can always contact them and check if you are :)
Did you eat before you had it done. Sounds weird but when I tested positive for protein I hadn’t eaten that day and she told me I should eat something. They will send it off for further tests, no news is good news. I never heard anything further from that sample at 8 weeks and I’m now 28 weeks and I’ve been tested 3 times since and haven’t had it back thankfully. I’m sure you’ll be fine and it’s nothing to worry about xx
@Megan yeah i always eat before as i have to walk up a hill to get to my appointments and i think i might die if i dont lol. My heart rate goes crazy when i walk around or do anything more than just cleaning in the house ect and my blood pressure was fine yesterday at the appointment but was high the friday before
I had protein in my urine for most of my pregnancy, if it’s not high they will not send it away usually it doesn’t mean anything
@Oliwia they have sent it to be tested at the lab
Did they do a blood pressure reading also ?
As they do these test to check for preeclampsia
Well if you don’t hear back everything is okay xx
If your ever generally worried about anything or don’t understand something also ask your midwife to explain it, as you have every right to know what’s going on but try not to worry too much, I’m sure it will all be okay xx
@Pandora she did but not with a machine she saud it sounded find but on the machine on friday it was high
Are you sure that wasn’t your heart rate she checked, blood pressure is the one they put round your arm they can’t hear your blood pressure, just always ask question I’m always questioning everything x
Just honestly keep an eye on how your feeling, I think you should be okay, try not to stress your self out as it can make things worse, look out for swelling in face and hands and things like that, headaches, and spots in eyes, these are all the things for preeclampsia, and if your ever worried go straight to the hospital they are there to help you xx
Every midwife appointment they should be checking urine and blood pressure just make sure they do that every time x
It’s means your urine tested positive for protein in it. I had it first at 8 weeks and I haven’t had it since.
