Bath Issues

Our 17 month old has always loved bath time since pretty much his first time in it. He always laughs and plays and usually cries when you get him out as he wants to get back in. He loves bubbles, his bath toys and has no issue with getting his head/face wet etc. The last 3 nights out of nowhere we haven’t been able to bath him and he’s just screamed to get out and refuses to sit down in the water so we just quickly wash him down then get him out. It’s so odd as we have always joked about him being a water baby as he’s loved it so much. Water temperature is fine and he’s not had any recent illness. Anyone else experienced this with the bath and have any tips?!

We had this with our LO - loves a bath and has had one nearly every day since he was 2 months old. A few weeks ago we went through this stage for about a week. He eventually coaxed him back in by actually allowing him to bring his comforter into the bath 🤦‍♀️ (he has spares so we swapped it out in his room). After a few nights he was fine to go in again 🤷‍♂️.

Maybe try sitting in there with him :) My little ones loves the bath and cries when we get her out. Maybe he knows he’s going to have to get out 🤪 and is already upset? We have started taking out girl up for a bath earlier so she can spend even longer in it. Sorry this wasn’t much help 🙈 I hope he loves it again soon xx

This happened to my little boy last week as well! So weird! It was only for 4 nights and then he started sitting down again like normal, hopefully your little one will be the same. Mines also not sleeping well and being really clingy to just me, so I’m just putting it all down to a phase 🤪

Thanks girls! Appreciate the tips and tricks! Let’s see if any of these work and hopefully it is just a short phase! 🫠😅

Mine has screamed and cried before each bath since 13 months and hasn’t sat down since. He does standing baths now, it’s tiring AF! (He hates the shower more). Wondering when the phase will end

Have you tried bathing him at different times of the day?

Been through this and now he’s fine again 🤷🏻‍♀️ you’d think the water was fire the way he would scream. I put it down to tiredness, bought bath time forward and all is good again xx

@Saskia no but a friend suggested this so I think we might try it! Thank you!
