As above it should be 7.8 so only just over which I don’t think is too bad I’ve had readings that are 8.4. It can take a few weeks for your readings to be low so I personally wouldn’t worry too much but speak to your midwife if you are
I was told 7,7 or below is ok. But 7,9 I guess it is not so bad. It will be worst to get 10 or 15.
Hi there, I'm really struggling with my readings, I can eat something one day and have a reading of 6.2, then have the same thing a week later and have a reading of 8.4 I'm finding it really frustrating
@Darienne same thjng happens to me. Have you tried eating your evening meal before 7pm I’ve found that does help
@Darienne I started getting this it was so aggravating. I had a meeting with the dietician we went through my diet and other than I was over restricting myself she had no concerns at which point it was recommended I went on Metformin. Apparently it's very normal at this stage of pregnancy for the hormones to mess with things even more
@Kirsty I have been told to try that, I haven't found it makes much difference honestly, I went over this afternoon with chunky vegetable soup 🤷🏽♀️ and I'm usually fine with that
@Holley it is really frustrating isn't it 😩 I'm also on Metformin now, I reached the max dose this evening, so hopefully after a couple of weeks at max it'll settle but I'm not banking on it 😣
@Darienne i was told that stress, weather and hormones could affect the result. I was so shocked. i thought it was all depending on the food, but apparently other stuff can also affect
@Darienne same here. It is making a difference I've been able to eat a little more and not feeling quite as unwell
I have recently started Metformin as my fasting readings are high yet is isn't making much of a difference so far
@B that's interesting, I didn't know that!
@Holley I'm glad to hear it's starting to help you :)
@Stacey hopefully it'll settle down for you as your body gets used to the Metformin, but it is frustrating when it's basically out of our power what our bodies do
Yeah it needs to be below 7.8. I know it's easier said than done but having a load of water and being active after eating does help. Not easy with all the aches and pains and a watermelon strapped to your body but it does help. A high reading isn't the end of the world just take a look at what you ate and see if there's maybe a substitute you could make or maybe increase a portion of veg or protein to try and combat anything carby that could be causing a problem
