20 week scan

Hey all, I had my 20-week scan today at the gwent, and the sonographer couldn't get measurements of the baby's head, heart, and face as he was lying face downwards. So I have to be called back in for a rescan when I was getting sorted to leave. The sonograpger said something to his colleague about the reason why he couldn't get the measurements, and his colleague replied 'oh' I am majorly overthinking everything now and worrying that something is wrong. But surely they should have informed me if something was wrong.. right? I'm so stressed out.

I had the same so I wouldn’t worry too much. If they were concerned they would have given more information I am sure. I was offered a re-scan for two weeks later at Neville Hall instead. If you are worried just speak to your midwife but I am sure they would tell you if there was any area of concern. Did you get told about a re-scan?

I keep checking my notes.. but not sure if they even update it regarding scans. I had to have a rescan on my first baby so I know I've just got to wait for a letter or a phone call. Just worrying isn't it. I seem to be panicking more in this pregnancy than my first 😥

I just had mine today and had the exact same thing with baby’s position & things they couldn’t see. I think they’d tell you if it looked like there was an issue with anything. With the position baby was in it makes complete sense they couldn’t see certain things. Him saying to his colleague about not getting certain measurements is very different than something being wrong!! Deep breaths 😊

Was probably just in the wrong position, completely normal

Thank you, girls. I am relaxing slightly by knowing that if something was wrong.. it would have been mentioned there and then with me and my husband. I know it's common to have to be rescanned, but it would have been nice to get it all done.. but I suppose we can't have it all, can we?.
