I’d just call up her pediatricians office and ask them! The ladies at the front desk may even be able to answer that for you. But every baby is different, to my knowledge at this age formula is still their main source for everything. We were told for my almost 11 month old to introduce whole milk a few weeks before she turns one to get her used to it that way by the time she is one she should be fully transitioned to whole milk. Or not that’s completely okay too if they’re not there yet!!!
Our pediatrician said we were good to transition to a diet of solid foods and whole milk whenever we were ready at the 9 month checkup. My girl currently does about three meals a day and her bottles now are 75% whole milk and 25% breast milk. Our plan is to have her completely on whole milk next week. She has significantly decreased how much milk she drinks with the solids increasing. She turns one on Dec 4th, so she'll be on whole milk about three weeks before her birthday, and I intend to start offering it to her in a straw cup instead of a bottle with meals and snacks. I will say that the pediatrician tested her iron levels and said they were very good before she gave us the okay to switch. My understanding was that you mix the formula and milk and transition slowly just to give their body a chance to adjust to digesting the whole milk, but I'd say if she seems to digest it fine there aren't any issues with offering whole milk.
Call the pediatrician! I am about to have a phonecall with my son’s pediatrician next week! My son is drinking lots of my frozen BM and we are running out so we want to incorporate whole milk so he doesn’t have to transition 2 times before he turns 1!
Each baby is different and you’ll know if it’s upsetting her tummy. My cousins baby couldn’t keep any formula down so she ended up on whole milk from 5 months on. (Her pediatrician said it was fine since it was the only thing helping her gain weight)
