Consultant phone call
Hi all. Has anyone been given a call with a consultant and felt it went okay?
I am due with my second and first baby was a long labour which ended up is forceps, cuts and bleeding. I am petrified of this happening again and was offered a call with consultant to discuss options.
Had call yesterday and they asked me if was okay with natural delivery? Surely that’s their job. Also when I asked more about safety measures etc like injections ready she said she didn’t have my notes??
Just felt very rushed and not what I was expecting. Anyone else had a similar or better experience? Thanks

Not sure what you mean when you say surely that’s their job… sounds like they were asking how you feel about a vaginal birth again after your last experience?
I meant in terms of wanted them to advise me if safe or not. And reasons for and against etc. Not just ask. Was a bit taken aback that’s all.
Their job isn’t to advise you what to do. It’s to give you all the information, risks, benefits, discuss your feelings so you can make an informed decision. They sometimes give ‘recommendations’ but it’s up to you what you accept and consent to
