UC enquiry
I’m currently 24w 1d and I currently get carers allowance alongside uc as I care for my auntie and it’s completely slipped my mind that I need to inform uc and I’m not sure when I was supposed to tell them I still don’t have my matb1 form but hopefully will on my next midwife appointment next week so I can upload it…. But I’m looking into cancelling my carers as it is becoming too much for my body to handle as I’ve been in a&e for severe back pain and I have to take multiple rests and toilet breaks but I’m worried that once I cancel carers and tell uc that they’ll want me to get all the way to the work appointments when I don’t feel fit enough to as I am a single parent and it’s just me doing everything and I don’t know what to do and my anxiety is through the roof and I don’t know who to ask
Hey lovely. From 29 weeks pregnant up until your baby is 1 years old you will be put in the ‘no work-related activity group’, meaning you won’t have to attend any work appointments or required to do anything related to work. You will have to supply your matb1 form through your online account as you are already aware. If before 29 weeks pregnant you feel attending appointments/ looking for work would negatively affect your health you will need to explain this to your work coach and/ or provide evidence - which it sounds like you could prove having attended a&e for your back pain. You are only 5 weeks away from the ‘no work- related activity group’ anyway, I know it can feel overwhelming but from what you have explained hopefully they will be supportive of your situation and also guide you through it. It should be quite straightforward. Hoping it all goes well for you and wishing you all the health and happiness. xx
