I was exactly like this with my first child, the thought of it alone would majorly trigger my anxiety. It’s super common to feel that way
I found it okay when our baby was younger, but the last month or so it’s so different! Easier to avoid it now 😓
Same as @Mandy I found it easier when she was younger and would be asleep during the meal. Now she’s awake so much it’s difficult as she gets whingy being left in the pram for too long (FOMO) but if you get her out at the table then she screams when you try to get her back in the pram whilst you eat which is really fun 😂 but if I leave her out then I’m trying to eat with one hand etc it’s not an enjoyable experience anymore x
I've found restaurants to be fine so far, she's 3.5months. I think it's the atmosphere/noise that seems to chill her out
I think it depends on what restaurant you go to. If I go to a family place where there are more children a lot noisier I find it a lot more relaxing for myself and for the baby. We went somewhere a little more quiet and no children and I felt very anxious all the time.
My boy loves going out 🥴 I think he’s going to end up costing us a fortune when he’s on solids 😂 I went out with my mum and nan the other day & he was good as gold until we asked for the bill, then he screamed so I took him outside and he was fine again.. perfect timing for me to escape paying 🎉😂
Yes!! I’ve told my family to just stop organising this until I say so because I absolutely cannot bear it. Everyone’s sat down while I’m walking around calming a baby. My food is going cold, she doesn’t want to be put down. Last meal we went out for I had to box up my food and leave early. Just not worth it
