Friendly holiday psa!!!
I was unaware of this until today, I make black pepper gingerbread cookies every fall. Gave the youngest kid (3) one to try and they licked off all the powdered sugar and tried feeding it to the dog. I quickly yelled no and called for the dog to back up because I didn’t know if the spices were safe. Luckily the dog did not eat it. Nutmeg and Clove are very toxic to dogs and will cause death!!! I have seen holiday recipes that say they’re animal friendly but a few I have found contain one of the above. I now keep them fully sealed in the top cabinet since I also have cats!!

@Nathalie I wish my cat was like that. He likes anything including cardboard. No he’s not orange, he’s a tuxedo tabby lol. Thinks sleeping on the stove will get him food, even though he’s named potato.
My cat should be dead with all the random things he eats off the floor. I’m constantly cleaning the floors and he still manages to find something to eat off the floor. He got ahold of a piece of gingerbread cookie that I made last year. He’s also eaten things with onions and even onion skin. He’s 16! Somehow he survived it all. 🤷🏼♀️ 🤦🏼♀️
@Eliza my childhood dog should be too!! She ate an entire 9x13 pan of fudge we had just made and had sitting on the freezer to cool. She’s 12 now and still going at it.
