Weaning off the bottle

My daughter is 2 and will not give up her bottle. She will drink from a cup but if there’s milk in the cup she refuses it unless it’s in a bottle. What can I do to help her get off the bottle?

You just need to stop the bottles and not give in.. I had to do that with my son. They'll get over it in a few days.

I had tried chocolate milk in cups and various sippy cups and straw cups. Didn’t work. We ended up going cold turkey when he asked for milk at lunch time and all the bottles were dirty (he drank milk morning and night so lunch was unexpected). He had a huge tantrum but drank some milk from the straw cup. After that, I hid all the bottles and said the babies took them and big boys drink from cups anyway. We “searched” the house for the bottles. He had tantrums every morning when he saw his cup but would drink after I convinced him that baseball players/spiderman/etc all drink milk from cups. Now he doesn’t want any milk so I give him more yogurt and cheese.

You have to be persistent if she wants the milk she will drink it from whatever it’s in eventually. My daughter was completely the same but after 2 weeks she now ask for the cup instead of the bottle and it helps when she goes to daycare as well.

My daughter was the same exact way. But we just stopped giving her the bottle. She doesnt drink milk anymore but atleast shes not on the bottle.
