no appetite

My little girl is 12 days old and EBF. I know I need to be taking on extra calories but I have zero appetite. I usually love food and have a decent appetite but I haven’t managed to finish a meal since giving birth. I get about halfway through and I’m full. She was back up to her birth weight at 9 days old and I seem to have a good supply so I’m happy that she’s getting everything she needs. Most of the information I see is people having increased appetite while feeding so it just seems really odd. Has anyone else experienced this and did it last?

First time around I was ravenous for a little while. Second time, no appetite! As long as you are eating and drinking don’t force yourself x

Same! This is my first baby and I have no appetite. I was hungry all the time during pregnancy but not since birth. I force myself to eat. my advice since you're still early on is eat every time baby eats. Set up a station with food and water and keep it stocked. I didn't and I went 5 hours without eating most days because I didn't eat when baby nursed which ate through my body reserves quickly and now Im working on upping my supply. It's a challenge but I'm up for it. It's been a month of taking supplements feeding on demand and pumping every 2 hours and still baby was once EBF as soon as my supply regulated at 3 months I now have to top up with formula. I refuse to give up because I'm still producing 40% of baby's food but it's a lifestyle. I bring my pump everywhere with me. Good luck!

Yes I had no appetite either, yet ate everything in sight during pregnancy. Since I’ve upped my calories I feel like my supply has improved. I have a big bowl of porridge in the morning and high calorie/protein snacks throughout the day like peanut butter and banana on toast. I’m 3 months pp and my appetite has improved x
