A couple things helped my baby when we were starting solids. I would give him a couple sips of water after every meal that helped A LOT, also try giving him anything with prunes that’s also a lifesaver.
Prunes or prune juice?
Gonna try prune juice. Picking some up today and I’ll see how that goes. After he ate, I gave him a couple sips of water
I always remember by the 4 P's for constipation peaches plums pears and prunes are all good for constipation :) x
@Siobhan making a trip to the store thanks sm!
When I first started puree with my babe it took a while for his digestive system to get used to the change. He was having hard-ish poops with some straining and constipation. Longest he went was 6 days without a BM. I did daily prunes, made sure he drank his bottles, and some activity (bicycle legs, playing, tummy time…) to make sure things were moving
Puréed prunes help a lot also pumpkin they make banana pumpkin purees or pumpkin puree and those helps as well, you can also give water and make sure he’s getting more breast milk or formula food is experimental for them right now for when they are fully ready to go on full solids
Gave him a little more milk and then I put prune purée and mixed it with water and he drank a little bit of that. Hope this helps him! Thanks guys!
My boy is 9 months and on solids he only goes every 3-4 days it’s normal as it takes longer to digest the food as long as he’s not uncomfortable or in pain or not going for longer than 5/6 days he will be okay
Do you give apple juice
Make sure he's still getting plenty of formula or breast milk, and maybe even a little bit of water. Maybe you could also try giving him baby food prunes? They are supposed to help with constipation, so maybe that would kind of negate the effects the baby food is having on his tummy.
