Advice needed urgently!

I'm so angry and upset at my husband. He fed our LO formula from an old bottle (used). The bottle used was made at 5am, and he then used that same bottle to make a new feed at 9am. He made the bottle half asleep and didn't check. I'm very unhappy and have already had an argument with him about it. Please advise me on what I can do? I am so worried 😟

We all make mistakes. I’m sure pretty much every mum has done it at one point or another. It’s silly to have arguments about it. I’d apologise personally. Baby will be fine. At worse will just have a bit of an upset stomach and some bad poos

He will be completely fine, think off the amount of things baby puts his hands on and then puts in his mouth. I know its hard to remain calm and not take it out on each other, but he will be okay :)

ive given my baby old bottles (on accident) & unshaken milk so just water with a blob of powder😭 im also confused do u mean he used an old bottle (empty) and made milk with an old empty bottle?? because i have intentionally done this a few times bc i didnt have time to do dishes

I wouldn’t argue over it, mistakes happen and it won’t harm the baby at all.

So he made a mistake

Have you never made a mistake? It’s a bit harsh to make an argument over this.

I totally understand how you feel, as I had PPA with my first. It made me not trust my husband with the baby, and I was super hard on him. Just know that your baby will be okay, and although it doesn’t feel like it in the moment, husband is capable and wants the best for baby too.

@Elena dont bash her😡😡😡

In these moments, it helps to remind yourself that you guys are on the same team

Yeah wow I’d be so grateful for my partner to be making a bottle! Does he scold you for mistakes you make? Poor guy made an honest mistake from being tired. It’s not gonna harm your baby unless you live in a dirty/unhygienic environment? I’d be apologizing for sure. And thanking him for his efforts.

@honey how about she doesn’t bash her husband for making an honest mistake lol

@Elena ive snapped at anybody when i was fresh post partum. shit happens. hormones are crazy. obviously dont be an asshole to him either but dont make her feel bad if she already did

I know every little thing seems like a life or death situation when they’re little but it’s usually not. Your baby will be fine and before long they’ll be putting things from the floor in their mouth. Also wouldn’t advise talking your husband out of helping. It’s important to prop each other up and stay on the same team

These things happen. I honestly wouldn't be angry at him ... it was a mistake anyone could have made. Your little one will be fine though my little boy licks the carpet haha

Honestly I wouldn't stress. When my daughter was about 3 months old, I accidentally fed her an old bottle by the side of the bed rather than the fresher one. Nothing happened and the worst case scenario would have been the shits

Thanks all for taking the time to comment. I guess I should have explained the argument which only started as my partner first denied using an old bottle to make the feed, he then proceeds to say it was my fault and I should have told him. It's not the first time he's been careless making a bottle. In the past, he poured cold tap water in the bottle to cool it down despite having the nuby. He has made bottles without properly measuring the scoop and levelling it off, and putting together sterilised bottles without washing his hands. Things like this have really stressed me out and made me anxious about him making bottles. I want to learn to trust him, but it is hard when he does things so carelessly.

I was more looking for advice on what would happen with my LO drinking from an old used bottle. He did have a poorly tummy. Was very gassy amd sick more than usual. Bottle making is always stressful for me as I get very overwhelmed with all the guidance out there and the dangers of not preparing it properly. I can get stressed easily as it's my first time and want to do my best as a mum.
