Transition from hypoallergenic formula to normal formula

Has anyone done this successfully? If so at what age? I’m not convinced my LO has CMPA and I think it may just be reflux but he has been off dairy for 2 months now and I’m worried I might be giving him an intolerance!

If you don’t think he has CMPA you can reintroduce it slowly by adding 1 scoop of regular formula to the hypoallergenic formula I.e., if he has a 6oz bottle on day 1 you would do 5oz of hypoallergenic formula and 1oz of regular formula. Day 2 would be 4oz of hypoallergenic formula and 2oz of normal formula and so on until he is on a full bottle of regular formula giving that there is no reaction each day x

@Julia thank you! What reaction would I be looking out for? I’m conscious cows milk will be harder to digest even for a non CMPA baby so I don’t want to confuse an allergy reaction with just a bit of a normal digestion reaction. He already has reflux even on HA formulas Thanks

The same reactions that made you think that he has CMPA. You won’t be using straight up cows milk as that isn’t until they are 12 months old which is when they move onto straight up cows milk. For now you’ll be using cows milk formula as I’m taking it baby is under 12 months old x
