We transitioned shortly after he turned 1, I found using the brand you mostly used for bottles is the easiest transition, ex. We used tommie tippie bottles, so now we have Tommie tippie sippie cups it’s like a straw type sippie cup
He won’t drink milk in anything but a bottle, but will use a sippy/straw cup for anything else. I really like the Zak! Brand. I wish they had more basic colors instead of characters in them but they are great! Spill proof, throw proof (my LO has an arm on him). I like they also have metal/insulated ones too!
We had a hard time transitioning our boy but I found that the nuk bottles from Walmart with the silicone nipple worked better than any other ones and now he will use the hard sippy cups, straw cups and 360 cups as well. I’d start with a silicone nipple sippy cup during the day with their favorite drinks to try and transition them
My twin B uses cups most of the time but as soon as he sees his brother with a bottle he reverts back. My twin A used a sippy cup for like 3 days and has refused since 🥴
We transitioned to Dr Browns sippy bottles
We use straw cups during the day for water and milk but we still do one bottle before bed and haven’t been able to kick that one even though my doctor says she has to. Don’t tell.
open cup with a straw, she drinks out of the straw until it gets low enough to not spill and then will use the open cup
I did slow but had to not look back. First few days was rough and then he transitioned. I did como tomo bottles to then the zippy cup top. Then transitioned water to the zak straw cups and now he drinks both milk and water from zak straw cups.
Ty all for your responses!
dr brown sippy bottles are his favorite ( we had dr brown bottles before the transition). He will take a straw sippy cup and regular sippy cups and cups but only a sippy bottle at night
She uses both! My daughter will honestly drink out of any sippy cup but at night she prefers a bottle. I’ve heard kids do better if you skip the sippy cup and go to a straw cup.
