Are we introducing solids?

Pediatrician said that we can try for solids… first for three days do one vegetables during dinner. I don’t mind to try, but are July 8th babies giving it a go?

July 6th baby here, I also got the okay to begin solids but decided to wait until 5/6 months most likely 6, as my oldest daughter have a dairy allergy ( inherited from me ) and I’m worried she’ll have the same issue 🙂‍↔️.

I definitely think I’m going to wait. I don’t want to rush.

I have a july 8 baby too and our peds recommended to start purees. I haven’t started yet but will start either this week or next 😅 we are thinking of starting off with green beans

Mines July 2nd born and I started solid at 3 1/2 months because he was showing signs he was ready. When we went to the pediatrician last week, she said we could try a new food every day if we want that it’s old practice showing waiting 3 days in between. My baby’s doing amazing and a huge foodie so far. I started with cereal and then I started mixing peanut butter and his cereal bc it’s good to start with high allergen foods bc it reduces the risk of an allergy and now he’s tried squash, sweet potatoes, and various other foods.

My son‘s doctor said it was fine that I’ve been giving him cereal since he was clearly ready and to give him whatever I want now. I am pureeing spinach for him tomorrow

Not like solid BLW food but puréed sweet potatoes.

July 5th and we got the go ahead for purées when we think she’s ready. I didn’t want to this early, but she has eczema so they said early introduction can help prevent food allergy. So I want to. I’m scared though. She’s just a tiny baby! lol

July 8th as well! Waiting until 6 months and doing baby led method💕 no baby purées!

Mine is 7/9! We started veggie purées a few weeks ago and everything so far is going good

July 22nd here and we’re doing blw. I gave her one slice of banana and she loved it.

@Kerri just so you know as long as baby is sitting up, and interested in food you can start! The CDC recommendation is severely outdated!

@DRue Noo! BLW is not safe. His pediatrician said not to introduce textures this early. And giving a baby whole food whose airway is the size of your pinky is a choking hazard waiting to happen

Mine is July 9th and we are waiting.

@Gabrielle ya just personal preference! We’re giving her small tastes her and there but I need to mentally prepare for the mess🤣 I got a toddler and puppy

Mine is 7/11. I gave her peanut butter yesterday and plan to give her more today. As well as other solids. She lifts her head up and is very strong. So her pediatrician said she’s ready. My older twins weren’t fans of purées so I just gave them nibbles of what I was eating. Obviously in the correct bite sizes as they can easily choke.

My baby was born July 1st. I started solids last month. I started with bananas and now we’re on sweet potatoes. My doctor didn’t mention anything to me but it’s my third baby lol so I seen the signs and we just started at our pace. I have a baby blender and I found that really helpful!

@Courtney I don’t think you understood what I was saying. Lol not BLW solids… purée solids. I know not to give a baby as young as our July babies anything like that. Lol someone had commented about solids and purée are different things so I was meaning like I’m not talking about BLW solids

Mines July 1st but we started about a week ago on the 7th. Started with butternut squash for my girlie and she wasn't a fan 😂

I think it's safest to wait until 6 months. If you do try and baby keeps pushing out with the tongue, baby isn't ready.

Mine is july 2nd and im waiting till shes 6 months. She started showing signs that shes interested when she sees us eating but im not in a rush. Their digestive system is still immature and i dont want her to be constipated.

@Gabby same birthday!

I haven't started solids yet. We will see maybe around thanksgiving

July 8th baby here… he’s definitely not ready, husband tried letting him taste hear and there and baby scrunched his face up like no

Waiting til he’s 6 months

@Annie i haven’t had any issues with consolation and I started my baby a few weeks ago! You just offer once a day if they want it they’ll try it otherwise they won’t and my son still gets some milk after as that’s his main source. I only do a few ounces of food for him to try. Their digestive systems are fine and learn to adapt. Anytime they start a new food it’s a possibility they’ll be constipated no matter the age because they’ve never had to digest it.

@DRue ohhh okay🤣🤣 lol

@Kate July 19th as well and waiting

My girl came 2 weeks early so was born June 20. Her last appt (4month check) Dr said she thinks baby will be ready by 6months (end of Dec) to start solids

Mines 7/12 and my pediatrician mentioned it yesterday at his 4 month appointment but since my little one isn’t showing interest he said to just wait till he’s interested.

July 10th, got the green light but will wait for another week or so

We have been giving our LO tastes of what we are eating for a few weeks because she zeros in on us eating and stares. Just little tastes of sauces/juices from whatever we are eating. She hasn't been enthusiastic about anything yet but she still stares at us every meal so we keep trying.

July 8th baby here! We haven't started yet just because it's so nice not having to worry about feeding him yet. My now almost three year old started at 4 months and loved it! But I do think they are more ready around 6 months.

Well we weren't going to but today my 2 year old gave him food 🤦🏼‍♀️ Oh kids...

July 13th baby and we just started purees! Seems to be doing really well on them. As long as he doesn't push the spoon out with his tongue (it's a natural reflex) I'd say give it a go!
