Positive partosure test?

Hi girls, has anyone had a positive partosure test and not gone into labour 7-14 days after? I had a positive test with contractions but the contractions have since stopped and I’ve been feeling completely fine since. Not sure really what to expect over the next few weeks!

Yes (well kind of) this happened in my last pregnancy I had a positive text at 29 weeks and actually didn’t end up going into labour till 34 weeks ! Still earlier then normal but got a lot further then I thought I would xx

Yes, with my first pregnancy it was positive at 30 weeks (done because of contractions on a ctg) but he came at 41+4 🙈

Thank you both! That’s really helpful to know. Really trying to get to 34 weeks!! Xx

Did they offer you steroids for baby’s lungs? I had to have those just incase the test was correct. Doctors have always said to me it’s most likely to mean labour in 24-48 hours. Fingers crossed for you!

@Jasmine they did but they had also given us a leaflet of risks if we were to do that and the baby wasn’t to arrive within 7 days, so we were really unsure as to what to do. We’re almost at 48 hours so hoping and praying that the contractions don’t pick up again x

I was never given this sort of leaflet and would love to know the risks? I felt quite pressured into having the steroids and was treated like he’ll definitely come early and of course he didn’t 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Jasmine we were really pressured too! So some studies suggest it can impact them in later life in terms of mental wellbeing (this was a RCOG leaflet) but the doctors were telling us to dismiss the leaflet as other studies have said it doesn’t and it can in fact improve cognitive function. We were so confused! In the end we decided against it as I have gestational diabetes and the steroids (very sugary apparently) would have complicated my sugars and they were talking about all this extra stuff and moving me onto insulin and risks to the baby because of it so we decided to wait.
