Good advice above. Also, the solids / purées should be given after a normal milk feed. For now most of our babies nutrition should come from milk as this is balanced to what nutrients our bubs need. If you went food first they may be too full to take their milk and then miss out on key nutrients. Right now food is for experience, learning and fun xx
I started at about 23 weeks. Try morning time after first nap so she’s not too tired and not hungry. My LO naps 8-9 has the porridge at 9:15 then her next bottle at 10:30am. Don’t expect much at first, maybe just 2 spoons of porridge powder mixed with boiled water that’s cooled. Even now she’s just turned 28 weeks I only make 3 spoons of porridge powder but I do add fruit/ nut butter for flavour and texture. It’s just for exploring at this age x We’ve only just started to give her a few spoonfuls of dinner as she seems a bit hungrier of an evening now.
Try starting with one meal a day it doesn’t matter to much which meal you choose but try to stick with the same meal time each day and when you feel your babies ready, maybe a week or two later add another meal in and some different food to. It’s best to do it gradually though for babies stomach. With the porridge i would make it combined with babies milk and start with little amounts gradually increasing it. Also try not to feel pressured with it 🙂 Go with the flow and read babies signals, weaning at the start is more for fun and to get baby in routine of eating, more than for nourishment!! Good luck mama, I hope the advice helps 😊x
