Dog kisses

My in laws are visiting, and they have two big doodles. They know that I do not like them to lick my baby, especially in the face, but when the dogs do it, they keep saying that it was just a kiss and it won't harm her. I do have an awesome relationship with them and their dogs, but this licking my baby makes me upset, and of course, they dont like it. We have a dog, and we dont even let her do it because we think they carry bacteria that the baby does need to have transferred. What do you all think?

If your baby goes to daycare, mall, library, grocery shop, doctor's office, airport, anywhere... it's not the bacteria on dogs' mouths that will cause a malicious illness. I like to remember that babies are quite resilient - and I caught my 10mo "drinking" from the dogs bowl one too many times 😅

And... of course, make sure dogs are vaxxed, well behaved and groomed. Other than that, let the love flow

Statistically speaking dogs mouths are cleaner than humans. But I only stop my dog when she's doing it excitedly because sometimes she bonks him with her nose and he falls back

Honestly, no matter if dogs mouths are clean or not (I’m a dog person, so I’m def pro lick on my own face) it’s your call not theirs and they should help enforce whatever that is since their visiting you. We keep a healthy space between our pup and baby because he wants to grab at her, so it’s safer for both of them.
