Taking gift from SIL for my childs birthday who you don't talk to

How would you deal with a situation where you don't talk to your husbands sister and she hardly interacts with your kids. But it's approaching your child's birthday and she's got a gift from them? Would you accept it or not?

Accept it and thank her Unless there's more to why you don't talk to her

Accept it and move on idgaf either way trust anything you brought is extra!

Accept and thank her. This used to really annoy my mum as she fell out with her sister and as a result she also cut us out when we had nothing to do with it. My mum continued to give gifts to her nieces.

It's a kind gesture. I would definitely accept and thank her.

You accept it. Just because you are not talking to her, doesn't mean your child should miss out.

@Peer95 she disrespects, rude in front of my kids and also ignores. She’s rarely made an effort with my kids. Only special occasions

Accept it with thanks. Choose if you want to use it or not (depending on how old your child is). It’s not a gift for you - so you shouldn’t decline it on their behalf.

I'd probably just accept that's how she is as a person. Accept the gifts, thank her from yourself and your children and move on until the next time! She obviously wants to gift to her nieces so I wouldn't let them miss out on that. It also avoids drama/ awkwardness for your husband and keeps the peace for no effort on your part x
