When did you all start taking your newborns out

Hi ladies! When did you all start taking your newborns out into the world? Like for coffee or a target run? Mine is only a week old and hasn’t left the house except for her follow up appointments. I kind of wanted to wait until the two weeks or until I ask her pediatrician when is a good time and he okays it. I’m so anxious to take her out but at the same time I want her to get used to sounds and different environments. Thanks!

I took her out 2 days after she was born 😭😭😭 I was an eager mummy tho but I started to more after her first set of jabs

@Brenda omg haha ok yes I was thinking after her vaccines and I know every mama’s timeline is different but just wanted to see when we all started doing it

I took my baby out as soon as I could really. Little walks near my house etc and for coffee and cuddles with my pals in local cafes. Tricky, I’m glad I did because otherwise I would have lost myself completely. But you just do what you need to do.

2 days for me but I’d say maybe start with a walk or something? Depends how you feel in yourself

I left it a good few weeks in order for me to heal and build up the energy physically, mentally and socially 😂

We went for lunch 5 days old, we didn’t really have a waiting time. Not really necessary in my opinion

We went for a walk the day after we discharged from the hospital. The day after that we went to an indoor playground so his big sister could play. With my first I waited a lot longer but that had more to do with living pretty far north and her being born in November so the weather was not conducive to having her out of the house.

We went for coffee and a baby consignment store a week after she got home. I kept her in the sling the whole time and she was okay 👍 I would recommend keeping her covered in a sling or carrier to avoid people fawning over her and getting extra germs.
