@Zion I would’ve died! I can’t even imagine! When it involves sickness I wouldn’t be able to handle it bc it’s so unpredictable. How is she now?
This was last year but we are dealing with illnesses back to back this year she had hfmd last week and now has rsv this week she had covid back in July. She hasn’t really been around other kids so now that she is she’s picking up everything they have lol
I've got one for each kid lol Oldest: taught himself how to open the safety latch on our windows at the age of about 1.5, while I was making his bedtime bottle he opened it and climbed out, walked down the garden path into the neighbour's garden. We lived on a main road at the time, my partner luckily ran out and caught him looking at the neighbours car - I held him and balled my eyes out Middle: also about 1.5 was eating apple and started choking, not coughing panicking but actual silent, lips turning blue choking. I threw her over my knee and slapped the middle of her back hard twice and it shot out along with the entire contents of her stomach and then she screamed and I held her so tight - TERRIFYING Youngest: due any day now, I'm sure will find a new way to scare the life out of me
My son leaned up against the baby gate at the top of the stairs, didn't even put much weight on it, and it collapsed and he just tipped backwards. I dove to the stairs and thank God he landed on the top step and didn't fall all the way down! But that second before I saw how far he fell...omg! One time right after a bath he ran right to the stairs and fell down. Three steps only but watching him fall, not knowing if he'd stop...omg. Terrifying
The first time my daughter had a breathing spell 🙄 luckily it doesn't happen often but she almost passed out. I remained calm but started crying as soon as she calmed down and started breathing normally again.
I found my one year old under my partners sleeping bag in bed upside down, completely wrapped up, quickly flicked light on, grabbed him and pulled him out he was okay but scared me so much 😢I still have strong memories of this moment he almost died. Now it's just me and baby in bed with nothing around, just to be safe. Funny what tiredness does to you
Not *too* scary. But my oldest (11 at the time) tripped and almost fell while holding his sister when she was just a few days old. My heart dropped to my stomach. He did actually let my youngest fall off the couch when she was probably 6 months or so. He was sitting there with her and she could sit up pretty well but she just leaned forward and kept going. Neither was seriously hurt but of course I was freaked out. He's 16 now and I still don't really trust him to babysit 😅
My son has given me a few heart attacks, and he is only 3. When he was around 5 weeks old, he had an episode of not breathing, and I completely froze. My partner got him breathing again by blowing on his face a few times, and we rushed him to the hospital, where he spent 3 days and came home on Christmas Eve. Earlier this year, he was in the living room, and I ducked out for a few minutes, and then partner and I heard a light thud and our son crying. I ran into him and cuddled him, and when I leaned him back to check him over and tell him I loved him, he was gushing blood from his eye. Another hospital trip where we were monitored for a few hours. Turns out the cut was superficial, and he'd also cut his chin. Eye healed well, has a scar on his chin. A few weeks ago, he fell off the front steps, right in front of me bumped his head and split it open. I burst into tears because I could see inside his head. A trip to urgent care AND the hospital. Got his head glued back together and now has a scar there, too.
When he was around 5 months old, he rolled off the bed, hit a phone charger, and cut his head, and it swelled. A trip to the hospital for observation. In April this year, I noticed my sons breathing was slightly off, but he was otherwise OK. Woke up at 11:30 to his breathing sounding awful and him having a temp of 39.1. Straight to hospital. He got worse and was put on ventolin and steroids and diagnosed with RSV and Croup. In hospital for 11 hours. The day after we were released, he started vomiting. 6 times in 15 minutes, and it was back to the hospital, and a diagnosis of gastroenteritis. My poor bubba was really sick. Took weeks to fully recover. He has also pulled his hand from mine and ran off in a car park chasing a bird. Sliced the little bit of skin between his upper lip and gums, blood everywhere, him screaming in pain. Most recently, he was asleep in the room we were staying in while on a family holiday, and we were minutes away from leaving him alone to sleep when the heater started sparking.
Luckily, my partner was right next to it and yanked the cord out of the adapter. Saved our sons life. The heater was next to our bed as that's where the adapter was. If we hadn't been there, the bed would have caught fire. That was 3 nights ago, and I feel sick thinking about it. Makes my heart and stomach ache. Scary moments happen. You aren't at fault, and neither is Mr 9. Baby is OK. You will all be OK You might all just need some grace and extra cuddles for a little bit.
My baby was fine one day no sign of illness or anything one night I was in the bed with the baby my mom was visiting for the summer and husband was also home. All of a sudden my baby eyes rolled in the back of her head and was shaking uncontrollably. I yelled out the most helpless scream ever. My mom knew something was wrong by my voice. My husband called 911 and my mom was tending to the baby I was no help as I was just thinking about losing my baby I was crying uncontrollably I even passed out at one point. I was sitting on the porch cause I guess everybody put me out the house since I was no help so I got the task of waving the ambulance down. She ended up having a febrile seizure. She had rsv and the flu at the same time and we didn’t know at all she had not one symptom. Now we watch her like a hawk when she is sick and give her Motrin asap it happened once after but we were prepared and knew what to do after the first one.
