So upset

My husband spent the Ebt funds I was saving for thanksgiving. So now we don’t have any funds to buy a ham, corn, stuffing, etc. I was really looking forward to making a great meal with leftovers and it’s just gone. But I can’t even tell him I’m upset because he thinks I just complain and run my mouth all the time so I just started not saying anything. But this really sucks.

Well what did he spend the money on? But I would still tell him it’s not ok to spend money that was set aside for something specific without consulting you first. And if he wants you to stop complaining maybe he should start actively listening to what bothers you and work on a solution 🙄

He Instacarted some random items ( pears, bananas, lettuce, a couple juices) like we didn’t NEED those items and I told him what was on the card we are saving for thanksgiving stuff and he just forgot I guess 🙄🙄 he has spending issues and doesn’t realize what he spends until it’s too late… like this month I told him NO ONLINE GROCERY ORDERS because we have legit been out of food moneys by like the 10th consistently and then we are scraping by the last usually week-2 weeks of the month and I’m so sick of it. Like last month he put a 200 order and I was like wtf did you order for that much?! And he sat it on the counter and I was like do you see why I need us to go to the store instead? This is absolutely ridiculous for 200z it was like nothing just bonkers

He spent the money you saved for food for your family, and you are worried about him being upset? 'You spent our food money' is not you running your month, it's a legitimate concern. it's time to cut off his Instacart. You are in charge of groceries until further notice.

I don’t think he should have access to the ebt card until he can understand the budgeting. And you’re not complaining if he’s the one constantly being irresponsible.

So sorry this happened. Look up food pantries or shelters/churches in your area . They are most likely giving out food. Especially since it’s the holidays

Just so you know, you’re probably wasting your time waiting for him to change. Overspending is damn near as addictive as drugs. I have a lot of personal experience with this, and they don’t get better.

So sorry this happened… it sounds like your husband needs to remove apps like that from his phone and avoid the temptation at all costs
