Separation anxiety from mom

I need a pep talk about my son always wanting to be with me right now. He loves daycare and walks right in when dropped off. We have babysitters he is great with too. But, no matter where we are or who we are with if I am in the room all he wants is me or to be held by me. I know this is developmentally normal, but unsure if I should continue to accommodate the behavior always or set boundaries with him. Anyone else in the same boat with their almost 2-year olds?

🙋🏻‍♀️dealing with the same thing right now. I love that my daughter loved me so much and feels safe with me but sometimes it can be a little much. We just did a family weekend at a water park resort and she refused to go by her grandparents or uncles/aunts and would only want me, she wouldn’t even go by her dad

Yes. I feel like they always are drawn to us becuase they feel safe, as Sarah said. But when we are out and he does that, I socialize to help him get comfortable.

I keep tripping on my son in the kitchen bc he has to be by my side recently… it’s cute, but I just want to cook in peace sometimes 🫣
