Formula mamas help!

I am weaning my EBF boy off the boob and starting to replace one bottle a day. He takes the bottle no problem after a long time of trying but my issue is he only sucks briefly and then pushes it away. I have to keep trying him with big pauses in between for him to eventually take 4-5oz. I then give up once the hour has passed as the formula then cannot be used. I am trying to wait until 3 hours have passed since the previous breastfeed but it doesn’t seem to make much difference. Is it possible he’ll want little and often like the boob? What should I do? Try 4oz every 2 hours maybe? I aim to give 2 bottle feeds tomorrow

Can you go by his feeding cues? And then work out when he wants to eat?

I’m struggling with making sure the bottle is ready at the right time and cooled etc. But also how much to make!

My baby was breastfed for five months and is now formula fed and still drinks little and often. It's not unusual for her to only take 50mls, or 80-120 is her normal feed. She has 6-7 bottles a day and mostly drinks enough overall and will have one big bottle in the night. We've tried everything to get her to drink more so we can do fewer bottles and waste less formula but she won't have it... Health visitor says this is often the case for previously breastfed babies.

I premake my bottles and put them in the fridge. Then just heat up what's needed when it's needed, I use the Inoby bottle warmer now but previously I was just playing in a Jug of hot tap water to warm the bottle

Exactly the same situation but tonight my combi fed boy took 180 before bed so all I can say is keep trying!!

Thanks all! I’m also used to the speed of breastfeeding so it’s all new ☺️
