Baby having fever so night

Hi ladies. My 8 months old is having a fever between 38.6 - 39.1 all night. I'm trying to keep him hydrated by nursing him. He cried a lot but finally a bit more relaxed, however he does these whole body twitching. Developed a cough as well. Do you have any tips on how to reduce his fever? My heart breaks to see him like that. We gave him tylanol like 5 hours ago. Don't want to give him too much medication. I'm doing cold press currently. Thank you 😭😭

I’d be taking him to gp or hospital with such a high temp if it’s not dropping xx

Agree, i would recommend to take him to GP or hospital, they will be the best ones to give you the better advices to cool his fever down. I was recommended not to use many layers and cool pads. Showers also helps them to rehulate temperature. But always recommend to go to the GP, and if necessary take him to hospital.

I called the family doctor and we're going in for a checkup. His fever keeps coming back as soon as the tylanol wears out. I was just hoping to get through the night. Last time we went to the hospital he was 2 months old, after his shots. He didn't have a high temperature and been told under 3 months to go only if the fever is 38.5 or higher. And if he is older just to give him tylanol. So I didn't want to go and sit again for hours in the waiting room just to be asked why we came in. Just give tylanol 😞
