They are Palmetto’s. The only thing that worked for us was to hire a bug/pest company to spray your home quarterly. $600 is way overpriced. I think we pay $75 a quarter. We haven’t seen one since starting this!
Oh girl they’re the worst honestly. I think you’re talking about palmettos. I’ll take some spider species over them. I once had on fly out of a coat closet and land on my leg. Scariest moment of my life 😂 my dog rescued me as we trained him to get bugs on command😬. I heard that rubbing your entryways with Irish Spring soap works and I tried it recently and haven’t seen but one since then. Smells good too. It seems to be helping. The hardware store has roach pellets you can hide behind your stove and stuff to kill them, and I rub my baseboards with lavender, thyme, and tea tree oil.
There’s also certain times of year they come in to your house more I think. Also my mom’s house is older and surrounded by woods and the only thing that helped her was having regular exterminator visits.
Oh palmettos are so annoying. Unfortunately they're native and love warmth so the house being clean has nothing to do with if they'll come in or not. I spray all entryways, and the pipes under the sink because they can squeeze through the tiniest crack. Don't leave your door open too long at night because they'll fly in without you noticing. The spray we use outside the perimeter of our home is Ortho Home Defense. It doesn't dry as fast so that's why we use it outside. Then inside we use Terro Spider and Ant killer in the orange aerosol can
They're trying to find shelter
@Alyssa yea I thought they were giant roaches
@Leslie well we rent a house and the landlords prices are outrageous for everything
@Elissa ugh I wish being pregnant and having a 2 year old I sadly can’t be here but I also don’t have a car to get us out the house
@Nicole oh man this state so they are different from roaches?
Are you referring to the palmettos?
