Growth scan

“Hey everyone! Just wondering, has anyone else been booked for a growth scan during their pregnancy? I’m curious if it’s routine for others or if there’s a specific reason for it. As I have been booked in for 38 and 40th week and I am 25+ week now.Feeling a mix of excited and a little nervous, but mostly just want to make sure everything is going smoothly. Would love to hear your experiences!”

I’ve been booked in for tomorrow I’m 28 weeks, and I’m also not sure why haha x

I had a growth scan and it’s because they noticed small abnormalities, so his legs were measuring too small on my boy, once he was here it was fine but they just check the growth each week to see if it’s something that needs to be spoken about!

I think with some trusts it’s standard if there’s certain medical conditions or you have a high bmi. I’m high risk so have regular growth scans starting Monday at 26 weeks. I’d ask your midwife why those have been booked if it’s not been communicated to you x

I've been given regular growth scans from 28 weeks but with my trust it's because ivf pregnancy, previous low birth weight, loss of a twin early on this time round and previous pre-eclampsia so I'm a big ol high risk pregnancy 🤦‍♀️🤣 i think they are trying to get more people in for growth scans though, instead of just midwife doing fundal measurements

@Emily i hope it goes well for you.

@Kayleigh I hope you and your little one doing well❤️🫶🏻

@Samantha i don’t have any certain medical conditions but my bmi was low that’s what they mentioned. So I think it was due to this.

@Rachel i am 25 week but my midwife has not done any fundamental measurements. Also wish you best with your pregnancy ❤️❤️❤️

@Komal thank you so much ! Xx

I had growth scans and this was because my little girl was on the bigger side, they go off a chart it should be in your maternity notes and if baby is off the little line then they like to do the extra growth scans so may be baby is a bit big your small. Have a little check in your notes it looks like a graph I’ll try attach one from Google. Hope all goes well with your pregnancy 🥰

@Lauren I was trying to get into badger app for the reports but I am not able to logged into. I’ve contacted my midwife regarding this. Let’s c

I am booked for growth scans every month from 28 weeks and I am also under consultant care but I have ulcerative colitis and an illeostomy so they want to check that my baby is growing properly. If ur curious as to why your are best to ask them or phone ur midwife and they will be able to explain to you best why you need growth scans.
