I got told at 28 weeks that my son was small and his femur measurement was like 2nd percentile. They panicked me so much but he was born 6lb 5 and he’s perfect height no femur length problem. The scans are only so accurate and some babies will just be smaller or bigger than others. Try not to worry xx
Thanks for the comments! Yeah I’m not overly worried I have 2 other children who were low risk, very healthy babies, both good birth weights 8’3 and 7’6. I don’t think her measurements are overly out to what the ‘typical is’ either! It’s just one of those things that plays on your mind a little even if you aren’t overly concerned / otherwise a happy healthy baby. Thanks for the comments again! 🤍🤍
I was told my little girl was small, was having scans every 2 weeks leading up to my due date. She came 2 weeks early naturally at 7lb! She was fine 🥰
i was told my baby was measuring small and had extra growth scans etc, He was also under the 10th percentile and he was around the 4th percentile when they decided the best option was to have a c-section (he was beech also) i had him at 37 weeks and he was 5pounds 13 ounces. i was also Low Papp A and i think small baby’s was one of the risks
Yep I am measuring average 7% this time round. Although head is like 2% so I have extra scans. Low Papp-a as well. My son measure small as well but born 40+4 7lb4oz so healthy. I hear scans are not that accurate especially as baby grows!
I had this with my first , just slightly under the 10th percentile there was no medical reason for this just a small doll, we had extra scans and were offered induction at 39 weeks , we declined and went into Labour naturally at 39w+1
I had this with my first baby. I just kept in mind that the measurements at NHS scans can also be out by a fair bit too! We only found this out at my 32 week scan (a check up for placenta previa) so has subsequent scans every fortnight from then on. She came at 39 weeks and was actually a lovely 6lb 9oz, so not overly small at all! Equally my sister in law has just had her son, who was a small boy (due to pre eclampsia and other health reasons) and he was delivered at 37 weeks at around 5lb 12oz and is healthy and well 😊 I will say that they may eventually offer to induce you due to baby’s size - this isn’t always necessary so keep that in mind if you know what you want in terms of birth!
