4 animals and a 3 months old is hard.

I'm so fustrated and overstimulated. At times I wish I never got this many animals in the first place. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and I'm literally miserable with the cats. They are so bad. I never get a break because of them they get into everything even when I give them toys and everything. I can't handle having this much on my plate. 😭😢 Is there any suggestions of how you do it? I get it. We have 4 cats and two babies.. a toddler and 4mo old. It’s a lot but even in tougher moments I’ve had to remember that they also deserve the patience and commitment they were promised. It’s a season so try to keep perspective 🫶. I try my hardest to keep with routine. Clean in the morning and evening and let my littles help throughout the day where they can.. which is great for things like play. Both parties enjoy it and it teaches the littles compassion and responsibility. I know your baby is too little at the moment, but will love helping down the road Baby wear! And remember this exhaustion won’t be forever ❤️ have you ever tried WAG or Rover or enlisted a friend to help you with walks etc?

Well how old are the cats and have they ever been trained? I have 4 cats here and they are all well behaved. It also can depend on their breed too.

Thank you for the advice! Unfortunately my baby doesn't like baby wearing she cries every time 🥲 I've never tried WAG or Rover

@Tiffany

Poor mama and baby.. it’s so hard to get much accomplished without your hands. Will baby go lay in a bouncer or swing for a few minutes while you tend to other things? I know it’s all hard, especially in the beginning when you’re figuring everything out for the first time. Try not to be so hard on yourself.. you’re doing great and definitely enlist help where you can. I actually used to walk for WAG and loved it.. so there are definitely great people out there willing and able to help ❤️

@Layla Caron my cats are 1 year a 4 months old. Well we had them since they were kittens and my husband and I trained them the best that we could but we never had a trainer to help. I have a black cat and a tuxedo cat

@Tiffany yes she will! Thanks I appreciate it! ❤️

Honestly I know it sounds cruel but a water spray bottle helps to train them and if you don’t want them in a certain room citrus scents will deter them but won’t harm them

Also if your cats are too out of control there are certain things you can try to calm them down

@Layla Caron thank you so much I will try that!

@Layla Caron what works to calm them down?

If you have any more problems send me a message I’ve been around cats all my life and have had plenty of them with different personalities 😂 just breathe though everything will be alright and definitely your 4 month old will settle down probably in a couple more months kittens tend to be hyper until 6-12 months but again if trained right (which I’m not an expert) they can mellow out and be the more loving cats ever!

And honestly with the cats, they are still babies.. and while kittens/young cats are cute, they are messy and wirey lol do you have scratch posts, cat trees and or toys that can simulate them without you doing much? (Ie interactive toys they can chase/ hunt.. treat puzzles etc).. also, laser pointers are super easy.. and you can exercise them sitting down while baby sleeps/nurses/feeds. I’d caution against spray bottles.. that teaches them to be fearful of you and doesn’t necessarily teach them not to do said action. And citrus can be used as a deterrent, but make sure it’s pure and use additional caution with essential oils as many can be toxic

Our cats LOVE these.. we’ll fill them with treats and hide them when we leave or overnight and it helps with their urge to hunt. Things like this are great for occupying them and creating a reward system at little effort from you ❤️ https://a.co/d/77Bvb8A

I completly understand, we have 4 dogs and 3 cats and it can be so much. I try to do enrichment for both sets when there getting overwhelming to me. Dogs have frozen Kongs I make, cats get treats in little grass things. Closing doors or using baby gates will save your sanity. I always try to give love and make sure they get attention during naps and bedtime. You could always try Feliway sprays or diffusers if cats seem anxious. It's a big change for everyone so give yourself some grace.
