Chicken Pox/ Shingles

Please could someone tell me the "rules" of chickenpox? So I've been told several different things. If you've had chicken pox you can't catch it again If you haven't had it you can catch it If you have had it you can't get shingles as an adult. If you haven't had chicken pox you can get Shingles as an adult You can get both xhicken pox and shingles 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

You can catch chicken pox more than once- unlikely but possible. You can catch shingles if you’ve had chicken pox or not… you can pay privately for a chicken pox vaccine from Boots or Superdrug if you want to- it does lower your chances of catching shingles and chicken pox later in life

You can catch chickenpox more than once (my son has had ot 3 times, 1st time was covered then got milder each time after that) You can't get Shingles unless you've had chickenpox as Shingles is part of the chickenpox virus family. Those who say they've never had chickenpox but had Shingles most likely were asymptomatic when they had chickenpox (My 11 Yr old is immune to chickenpox but has never had an outward visible infection) Being exposed to the chickenpox virus from infected people in later life gives a natural booster to the protection against Shingles which is why those who stay isolated (think care homes) get a rise in Shingles infections I've had both, I still have the spots on my back from Shingles as they never fully fade as they cause scaring and nerve damage (mine tingle when I'm run down )
