I’m currently expecting, baby due in February! We also went with the Graco convertible car seat. Covers rear facing new born all the way to toddler. We got an extra base too so we can have the car seat base in both our cars.
@Carly which one did you get? I'm not familiar with any convertible seat that has a base like an infant seat
@Carly the base is attached, they don't sell separate ones
@Stephanie well that’s my bad. we haven’t opened it yet but our main priority was having one option that switched from rear to forward which we accomplished. I think I just assumed that it would come apart in my head to actual switch from rear to forward
@Carly this is a great seat and you'll be very happy with it. To switch from rear to forward facing you simply venera lever under the seat and rotate the seat into the corresponding spot on the base along with switching the belt location on the seat. As a suggestion I would look into an infant carrier for shopping trips so you don't have to push a stroller as well.
@Stephanie there is an endless list of stuff we still need haha! My parents neighbor was telling them all about the stroller they just HAD to get for when they baby sit because it was, 4 in-one convertible car seat, stroller, bassinet and portable mini crib. My mom went home and looked it up and it was $1800 😭😂
@Carly you don't need anything that expensive and your baby won't use half the stuff you get. I love my mompush lithe v2 stroller that's currently on Amazon for $170. I actually took it on a cruise a year ago and it was perfect
@Stephanie oh totally we already have a graco stroller too that my husband’s aunt got for us. That price is absurd lol we spent half the price just buying everything separately
We have the Graco Slimfit 3 in 1 - no issues, reasonable price, easy to use and install!
@Micah this is one I’ve been looking at. My only concern is it doesn’t rotate. Do you wish it did or it’s not really an issue?
@Heather mine doesn't rotate, heck none of mine ever did, and you honestly don't need it to. Would be nice but in my opinion it's just another thing that could fail over time or be impossible to clean, car seats are filthy!

We have the Graco Turn to me model which has a swivel and it’s awesome and such a back saver

We have the Graco Extend2Fit 3 in 1 for our three and a half year old. And the Evenflo Revolve 360 slim for our 14 month old. Both have some of the highest rear facing weight and height limits. Both are 50 lbs and 48/49 inches for rear facing which is important for us. We rear face as long as possible. My 3.5 year old is still comfortably rear facing. I also recommend @safeintheseat on instagram for car seat safety and for help when choosing a seat
I love the graco TrioGrow snuglock as it has a metal frame and a metal bar that latches in place over the seat belt or latch system belt insuring easy and proper installation. So far it's the only convertible seat I can properly install rear facing in my '02 suburban
