Vaccinations

Hey fellow May 25 mums. I’m currently 16 weeks pregnant and have been offered flu and whooping cough vaccines from GP. Wanted to know how others felt about taking these vaccinations? First time mum and sceptical about all these injections and how they can affect baby. I’ve been told I will also be offered RSV vaccine later on in the pregnancy which I think I will go for as heard few horror stories of newborns hospitalised with RSV

I have all vaccines offered in both pregnancies so far. Whooping cough is to protect your baby mostly so for me that was a no brainer. It’s a sensitive and personal choice but for me, the risk of flu whilst pregnant or my baby contracting RSV or whooping cough after birth was too high for me to say no x

I got a measles variant as a newborn caused by the virus spreading by unvaccinated babies and nearly died. I’ve taken all vaccines offered. I’ll definitely be getting RSV it’s brutal and I knew a few babies that were hospitalised with it on my last maternity leave. It was scary as no vaccine then.
