Toddler with PICA

My lb is currently being assessed for pica and last year we noticed him eating bits of the Christmas tree so slightly anxious about putting up an Xmas tree. Any other mums having/had this problem? TIA x

Are you able to get a shorter one and put it up higher? On a table for example? My son loves pulling the decorations off so that’s what we do

Sorry for the stupid question but was it real or fake? One of the symptoms of low iron is pica, so it could be that?

@Sophie we thought of that but he’s a climber and makes it his mission to get to things to eat🙈

@Kelly it was a fake one, he ate the fake snow & branches last year. He’s just had bloods taken this week to check for iron, kidneys etc so hopefully find out soon if anything is link to low iron or if it could be sensory related

I hope you find out what it is soon, maybe instead of A Christmas tree you could hang a branch from the ceiling and decorate that? Or maybe a toddler felt one, if he doesn’t eat felt? Or make an edible one?
