My son was fine with hair cuts from 2. We started off with a mobile hairdresser and eventually started going to a barbers. My daughter however is 3 and never had a hair cut. She's like your son and doesn't like being touched
I don’t plan for my son to have a hair cut until he’s 4 or older and is no longer a toddler. And honestly idk I’m thinking that it will be more around the age of 8 or so when he actually has a well thought out opinion about it . My son is 3.5 also and I just wouldn’t place him in this position at this time as I don’t find it necessary. His behavior also isn’t such as a toddler that I think it would be beneficial for me to do so at this time. I’ve cut his hair on my own at home mildly with no professional involvement
@Donna i get it, but if we never cut my sons hair, he would look like rapunzel. He has very fast growing hair.
I don’t know how you feel about screens but the kids salon we take my son to has TVs and cars to sit in.
We actually never gone to a hair salon to get his hair cut. It’s either done by my grandmother or my husband. The only part he dislike is the hair getting onto him as it makes him all itchy. He’s currently 5 years old but had a haircut since he was 4 months old (first hair cut/shave). His hair also grows back fast (like his father). Edit: you can find hair salon that works well with kids.
I just took my 2 year old and we got it done but he was squirmy, and wasn’t a fan of the buzzing of the clippers. Took a lot from my part to keep him cool about it. I asked the hairdresser this question and she said when they’re around 4. But I’m sure it’s all kid dependent.
And to be clear he doesn't care about his hair being cut, like the length, he just doesn't like people touching his head.
