How to get your breastfed baby to poo 💩

I know and heard breastfeeding babies can go 7 days without 💩 and apparently it’s normal 🤨 ( my baby is 8 weeks old & i also formula feed her as well but I do mostly breastfeeding and only formula top up or when she’s not too full) Any suggestions or tips?

My little boy is 12 weeks now and has only done 3 poos in the last couple of weeks. He went 10 days, did 2 poos (one was a poonami) then 7 days and did a large but normal poop. I spoke to the doctor about it during a checkup for his chest and they said its nothing to worry about. My advice: enjoy the easy changes!

@Christie 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣 not the Poonami 😹😹💩! Oh wow I see ; I guess I will enjoy the easy change but sometimes I do miss seeing & changing the 💩; thanks Christie x

Hey, my first little boy pooed every 10-14 days for about 3-4 months, doctor was fine with it too. Breast milk is just amazing!

@Marianne Hiya Marianne!!; Oh wow that’s incredible! This makes me at ease as I thought maybe I should reduce or slow down with the breast and more formula but thanks so much x

same as above, my first went about 10 days with no poo and doctors weren't concerned. massive poonami after that but she wasn't uncomfortable or anything. my newborn now will go a few days without as well, but i'm not worried this time as multiple doctors said it was normal when it happened with my first. you can try bicycle legs, tummy massage and baths, but i think she'll go when she's ready to and i wouldn't worry if she seems comfortable xx

@Mariam breast milk is a laxative no need to reduce it :)

@keisha thanks so much x ; yeah she’s comfortable and doesn’t seem like she has to go but like you said she will go when she has to

@Costi ahh perfect!! Thank you for that x - first time mum and still learning as we go
