Cleft lip?

This is from a private 3d scan at 30 weeks. My anatomy scan at 24 weeks was “normal” 😕

We’ve had 3d scans 2 weeks ago and we were adamant our baby had a cleft lip but we had another one this week and she definitely doesn’t, even asked the scan person and he assured us she doesn’t it’s just because the way they get a 3d scan is by essentially taking a short 2d video that converts into the picture it can sometimes distort it slightly x

@Zo do you have those pictures? Oh i hope its the same for us. Im trying not to cry. Im so worried. I will bring it up to my doctor and hopefully they can do another ultrasound soon.

It doesn’t look like it at all to me.

My baby is 16 months now but after my 4d scan I swore my baby had a cleft lip too! I’ll add a pic now but he didn’t it was all fine it’s just blobby bits on the pictures x

For a different view, our daughter was born with a cleft lip that we had no idea was coming as it wasn’t picked up on any scans (we had lots of NHS scans from 20 weeks plus). I’ve seen you’ve said you’re really worried and trying not to cry, but for an alternative perspective, if your baby is born with a cleft, it just makes their difference special! 🥰 While a cleft obviously is an abnormality, as a mum of a cleft baby, I wouldn’t worry about it! Our daughter is thriving, born with a cleft or not 😊

@Bec your right. Thank you!
