With these measurements I was 34+5 and was measuring at 40 😂😂 I had a scan the following week and my boy is measuring on the 95th centile x
I got sent for a growth scan when growth was on 90th centile, but was on 50th when I went for the scan. She still says I’m ‘big’ but growth is still on 50th from scans.
I’m pretty sure they won’t recommend induction unless the scan shows as 95th centile or more - the scans are more accurate than the bump measurements but even then not very accurate apparently. the guidelines for inducing for big babies isn’t convincing even at above 95th centile so do your own research. Big babies aren’t anything new and our bodies wouldn’t grow babies we can’t naturally deliver! there’s a few threads on here of women in similar positions with some good info. But definitely do your own research - but as I say the scan could come back completely fine anyway as the bump measurements can be so off ☺️ xx
All my fundal heights are above the 97th and well off the charts! My growth scans have showed they are just above the 50th centile. This method of measuring is wildly inaccurate and outdated anyway! Xx
My fundal height was 90th but growth scan was 13th so massive difference. Now fundal height dropped to 50th and growth scan 34th.
None of them are 100 percent accurate but you also don't have to ha e an induction either.
I was induced with my first for this reason and ended up in an emergency C-section. Having a planned C-section this time to avoid the induction process as it was not the most pleasant (or successful!)
Do you have gestational diabetes?
Yep, my chart looks similar to yours and I had a growth scan at 32 weeks and everything was all good. Hoping everything is okay x
I measured like this on my first in 2022 obviously different for everyone as it goes by BMI - the decision for a planned C section after guidance from two seperate consultants was made . My baby was measuring >98 centile both scans and measuring belly are not an exact science so can be out my boy was born 93.5 centile (this was in 2022) he weighed 9lb born at 39 weeks - personally I’d prefer a planned c section than an induction ending in emergency c section. Just do some research on your options and don’t let anyone make the decision for you it’s your body 💖
Yep! I was above 97th on two consecutive fundal measurements, had a growth scan and baby was very much sat on the average - since then, my fundal measurements match up, so the midwife reckons baby was just in a protruding position for those first two measurements!
